Senior’s Living – Palm Lake Resort Eagleby Heights

Developer – Palmlake Works Pty Ltd

Address – Fryer Road, Eagleby

Sponsor – The Plant Management Company

Palm Lake Resort Eagleby Heights is one of the largest Palm Lake Resort villages and on completion will include 355 homes and is nearly sold out. The resort commenced development four years ago and is now more than 50 per cent occupied, with all facilities and amenities in place.

The village is a residential lifestyle concept that operates under the Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act and was once commonly referred to as the ‘mobile or moveable home park’. The concept grew from the permanent caravan park but now has little in common with its forbearers.

The Eagleby Heights development was purchased in three tranches, with the eastern half of the site at 270 to 272 Fryar Road begin bought as partially developed estate including 27 homes on 8.6ha of land. This site was approved for a total of 170 sites.

Later, the developer purchased the home site on the east boundary fence. At approximately 2200sqm, the site allows for another eight home site to become available. The third tranche included land to the west at 68 to 88 Eagleby Road, which was purchased in late 2007. This site of 10.18ha has approval for a 181-site village. The combined site area of 18.8ha is to be developed at a density of under 19 homes per hectare, which is below the density normally associated with this type of development at 20 to 22 per hectare. The lower density has allowed the developer to offer a higher number of wider and larger sites.

Today, the residents have a choice of designer style homes that utilise quality appointments and open-plan living. Stone bench tops, air conditioning, quality curtains, landscaped gardens and remote control garage doors are a few of the luxuries that are on offer today. Seven basic designs and with variations in garage combinations and layouts give the purchaser myriad choices.
